A Self Portrait

I was born in a small town in the former Yugoslavia. Because we were poor and did not have a TV in our house until I was 10 years old, I had to rely on my imagination a lot. As a child, I would stare at the dust particles dancing in the beams of light streaming through the holes of the window blinds of our small house. I remember the curiosity and wonder I felt at those times which developed into an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Each year, any books and comic books I read and collected through the year would be burned in the winter time. We used a coal stove to heat our home in winter, and paper was always needed to start up the fire. My drawings and paintings met the same fate. At 15 years of age I moved to Toronto, Canada, where I studied fine art and multimedia. While at art school, I developed a passion for photography that was greater than my budget for photography equipment. You can imagine my excitement when digital cameras arrived on the scene. At last I was able to shoot photos without having to worry about my budget. In May 2004 I started this photoblog. Recently, my photos have appeared in publications and galleries world-wide. Currently I design broadcast graphics for Global News. I am happiest when creating, experimenting, and sharing.

I maintain this photoblog in order to share some of my photography related experiments with you. Your comments are welcome and your business is appreciated.
