You really are nailing this processing style, there is not a lot to this image but it has a real draw, i think it is the angle which makes it more interesting. As this style of processing (where things are realer than real) is becoming more normal (well around the blogs anyway ) any views on how far this can go before it all comes too far from what we really see and enters a more abstract area. I think we are becomming accustomed to being impressed especially by big cloudy skies it seems. There is evidence of style taking over from content in some cases. Not in this case I hasten to add.
I agree. The angle really makes this shot. The thing about reality is that it’s all about perception. Hiroshi Sugimoto made a career out of photographing things that weren’t real but looked real – just to see what people thought. There is such a fine line between them and I like seeing that line played with as you do here.
Great tones. The stained glass windows never come out right for me. The use of HDR is perfectly suited for getting them to look great. The angle is disorienting and lends something of a horror quality. Nicely done.
